A little about Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is excellent for detoxifying your body and strengthening your nervous and immune systems. It increases self-esteem and helps you to attain mental clarity and supports you in living a more mindful and happy life.
Each Kundalini Yoga class begins with a warm-up, often with a focus on the spine. The base of the spine is also the storehouse of the kundalini energy, a reserve of untapped potential. Through the practising Kundalini Yoga you can begin to awaken this energy and distribute it through the body, which improves your physical health and also develops your intuition. You become better equipped to meet any challenges creatively and more receptive to opportunities. An additional benefit of keeping the spine flexible is that it keeps you youthful and energised.
After some warm-up exercises there is a kriya: an exercise set combining postures, breath and sometimes sound. There are many kriyas for different things such as for detoxing the kidneys, disease resistance, or for energy and rejuvenation. Kriyas help you to remove blocks and attachments. They develop your physical strength and stamina and increase self-belief in your abilities.
Following the kriya there is a period for relaxation. This essential aspect of a class allows the body to rejuvenate and distribute the energy stimulated by the exercises. It is a chance to rejuvenate and integrate positive new patterns. When life feels like a hurricane, you need to find the centre so that you can remain relaxed amidst the greatest of challenges and remember your real Self. The art of relaxation develops this amazing lifeskill.
Kundalini Yoga can dramatically improve your quality of life, if practised for even a few minutes a day. Even as a complete yoga beginner you can expect to benefit from your very first class.
Fortnightly classes take place in Nash Mills (on the border of Kings Langley and Hemel Hempstead). Private classes can also be arranged. Contact us for info.
